DescriptionThis brass carriage clock strikes the hour and quarter hour and plays its music on small bells, like a miniature carillon. An interesting feature of this watch is the "split-seconds" hand. This small hand below the center of the dial completes one revolution every second by making five very fast jumps.
Accompanying textsThe clock has six bells, six hammers for the bells and three additional hammers for striking. It plays one melody.
Carriage clocks were designed specifically for travel. Some other models of carriage clock resemble a small table clock with a handle at the top for easy transportation.
