This miniature barrel organ was made by the Perlee company in Amsterdam, which had great success with it in the years 1950-1980. Many copies were made and used for various purposes. For example, some were sold to homes with physically disabled children who could use them to train their muscles in a fun way. Two such organs even came into royal possession. One was presented by Prince Bernhard to the British Queen Elizabeth and her husband on the occasion of her coronation, and the king of Thailand received one as a gift during a state visit.
