DescriptionHave you ever had a piece of cardboard in your bikewheel? Did you notice that the faster you go, the higher pitch it produces?
De Klappermobiel is an 8 meter wide installation that allows you to make music with this principle. The Klappermobiel allows visitors to turn and play 8 bicycle wheels themselves. The installation measures 840 x 180 x 280 cm, the mechanism is made of bicycle parts such as wheels, chains, pedals and sprockets, and the construction is made of steel scaffolding tubes.
Created in 2022 by Yara Valente and Daniel Simu for Springplank and the Speelklok Museum in Utrecht.
Accompanying textsYara Valente and Daniel Simu together form Studio Knalgeel. Yara is a spatial designer, Daniel is a circus artist and inventor. Together they create playful interactive interventions to surprise people.
