Accompanying textsThe watch plays one tune that has not been identified, but appears to be a gigue.
Among the prolific manufacturers in the Neuchatel region, one of the most extensive watch companies belonged to the Perrin Freres. The European Indicator for 1841 describes "a house in Chaux-de-Fonds where everything related to watchmaking is manufactured under their own supervision." An additional editorial note emphasizes that readers should visit the Perrin Freres establishment to see their excellent watches because "the author has owned one for a period longer than 12 months and in that time it has never changed."
